An extension of the 'Coffee Club' is the 'Parent Patrols. Parents from the neighborhood volunteer to patrol the streets and keep an eye on their children.

Realizing that we have to deal with immediate day-to-day issues, economic issues for example, food for families in need. When parents are worried about how they are going to cope with the economic pressures of day to day life, no amount of debate on how to communicate with their children or educational programs to discuss violence on the streets will bridge the worries and concerns of a family in need.
